Starting a Mission at Home.

We believe the local mission begins in the heart of the home. Every lay person is invited to plant a seed of faith through home Bible studies, consistent prayer, and hospitality, creating a sanctuary where the Gospel can flourish in the neighborhood.

1. Gather a Small Group

Reach out to neighbors or friends who seek spiritual growth. A home mission begins with two or three gathered in faith.

Steps to Begin

2. Choose Scripture

Select a book of the Bible or follow the liturgical lectionary. Focus on reading and reflecting on the Word together.

3. Pray Together

Conclude with shared prayer, lifting up the needs of the community and the world in a warm, inviting spirit.

The Archbishop’s Ministry & Guidance

The Archbishop provides vital spiritual oversight, blessing, and personal guidance to all home missions. Through regular communication and pastoral support, he ensures that every small group remains connected to the wider communion while flourishing in their local setting.

Cultivating a Liturgical Life at Home

Spiritual Discipline

An ordered prayer life provides the rhythm that sustains our faith between communal gatherings. We encourage every home mission to establish a daily discipline of prayer and Scripture reading. Start simply: set aside a dedicated space for quiet reflection, use the Daily Office for structured guidance, and allow the Word of God to dwell richly in your household through consistent morning and evening devotions.

Practical guidance includes choosing a specific time each day, incorporating the whole family in brief liturgical responses, and using the Psalms as the prayer book of the church. These simple acts of domestic piety transform the home into a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit.

Morning Rhythms

Start each day by consecrating your first thoughts to God. Use our morning office for a structured cycle of scripture reading, psalms, and petitions that center your focus on Christ before the day's tasks begin.

Establish meaningful liturgical practices and worship experiences within the sanctuary of your home through daily prayer and tradition.

Evening Liturgy

Close the day with reflection and gratitude. The evening liturgy provides a space for examining the conscience, offering up the day's burdens, and resting in the peace of God's blessing and protection through the night.
